Baba Ramdev (Ramdevji)
A folk deity of Rajasthan revered across western India by Hindus of many communities and by some Muslims (as Ramshah Pir); his samadhi is at Ramdevra (Runicha) near Pokaran.

According to tradition, Ramdevji was born into a Tanwar (Tomar) Rajput family and lived in the fourteenth or fifteenth century; the dates given in traditional accounts differ. He is remembered for opposing untouchability and for his care for the poor and marginalised, and his devotees come from many communities; the Meghwal community in particular holds him in deep reverence. Many Hindu devotees regard him as an incarnation of Krishna (Dwarkadhish).
The great fair at Ramdevra is held in Bhadrapada, beginning on Shukla Dwitiya (popularly 'Baba Ri Beej'), when many devotees walk there from far away. Common devotional symbols include his footprints (pagalya), cloth horses and flags. Night-long singing gatherings (jamma jagran) with bhajans in Rajasthani are an important part of his worship.
Practices, songs and prayers differ between regions and communities. This library records them as regional and community traditions, not as rules for all Hindus.

- ಚಾಲೀಸಾಸಂಗ್ರಹಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿತ ಚಾಲೀಸಾ ಸೇರಿಸಲಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. Chalisas of Ramdevji are in popular circulation; a version with a verified source and author has not been added yet.
- ಮಂತ್ರಈ ದೇವತೆಯ ಮಂತ್ರ ಪಠ್ಯಗಳು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಅಥವಾ ಸಮುದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. Devotional formulas and name-chanting differ between communities; no single mantra is universally established.
- ಬೀಜ ಮಂತ್ರಸರ್ವಮಾನ್ಯ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಸೇರಿಸಲಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ-ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ರೂಪಗಳು ಲಭ್ಯವಿರಬಹುದು. No universally accepted bija mantra of Ramdevji is known. Different traditions may use different devotional formulas; verified forms will be stored separately with their tradition.

- ಪೂಜಾ ವಿಧಿಈ ದೇವತೆಯ ಪೂಜಾ ವಿಧಿ ಪಠ್ಯಗಳು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಅಥವಾ ಸಮುದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. Worship practices (for example at Ramdevra, and household jamma jagran) vary by community.
