Calculated Moon-sign reading

Growth in wealth and family happiness; take care over heavy workload and slow recognition

OverallD Udyog scoring model (v1.0)

In October the Sun is in your 4th house (Kanya) until 17 Oct, then moves into your 5th house (Tula): first restlessness at home and a busy mind, then scattered thinking and worry over children. Jupiter in your 2nd house until 31 Oct brings growth in wealth and family happiness, then in your 3rd house from 31 Oct brings slower progress and obstacles, while Saturn (retrograde) in your 10th house brings heavy workload and slow recognition. Venus turns retrograde in your 5th house on 3 Oct; matters of that house slow down and old issues may return. Jupiter enters Simha — your 3rd house — on 31 Oct, bringing slower progress and obstacles. On balance a mixed month: good openings sit beside a few cautions.

Written automatically from the calculated planetary positions of this period and the classical transit rules — the same inputs always give the same reading.

How this was worked out

D Udyog scoring model (v1.0) · The chart facts and the traditional rule results are classical; the weights, totals and thresholds are the Udyog scoring model — our own choice, not a classical formula.

Weighted average = sum of contributions -5.04 ÷ sum of weights 14.25 = -0.354. Rating = round(3 + 2.8 × (-0.354 − (-0.25))) = round(2.71), kept between 1 and 5 = 3.
A contribution is line score × period weight × share of the period × karaka weight × (1 + house bonus); the baseline -0.25 is the average score of the classical table, so a period of ordinary transits rates about 3.

Areas of life

Ratings run from 1 (needs care) to 5 (very supportive), from the traditional transit results for each area of life.

D Udyog scoring model (v1.0) — the 1–5 ratings are our own weighting of the classical transit results, not a classical formula.

Relationships

In love and marriage, Venus (significator of marriage, retrograde) in your 5th house (intellect, children and romance) brings warmth to relationships, though Vedha from Rahu delays it — traditionally, joy through children and creativity. Meanwhile, Jupiter in your 2nd house (wealth and family) until 31 Oct brings warmth to relationships — traditionally, growth in wealth and family happiness. Make time for your partner and say what you appreciate.

How this reading is made

A traditional Moon-sign (Chandra rashi) reading for everyone whose Moon is in Mithuna, not a reading of your personal birth chart. Houses are counted from Mithuna (house 1) using sidereal positions (lahiri_drik_compat ayanamsa) calculated for the selected place; times are in Asia/Kolkata. Transit results follow Phaladeepika ch. 26 with Vedha; ratings weigh each graha by its significations, the houses of each life area and how long it stays in the period. Best and care days use the Moon's sign at local sunrise.

Classical sources

Phaladeepika (Mantreswara) ch. 26, Gochara phala: results of the grahas transiting the houses counted from the natal Moon sign, with Vedha (obstruction)
Brihat Samhita (Varahamihira) ch. 104, Graha-gochara: the same favourable houses
Vedha pairs as tabulated from Phaladeepika ch. 26 in B. V. Raman, "Hindu Predictive Astrology"; no Vedha between the Sun and Saturn or the Moon and Mercury
Muhurta Chintamani, Chandra-bala: the Moon in houses 1, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11 from the Moon sign is favourable; the 8th (Chandrashtama) is avoided for new undertakings
Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra ch. 32 and Phaladeepika ch. 2: significations (karakatva) of the grahas; BPHS ch. 11–23: significations of the houses
Sade Sati (Saturn in the 12th, 1st and 2nd from the Moon sign) and Dhaiya / Kantaka Shani (4th and 8th): widely followed later tradition
Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra ch. 3: colours of the grahas; weekday by its lord (vara)
Lucky number: popular numerological (anka) convention, not a classical Jyotish rule
Graha-shanti tradition: Yajnavalkya Smriti, Acharadhyaya (Graha-shanti prakarana) and the remedial chapters of BPHS; nama-mantras and weekday / deity associations as commonly practised
