Shloka of the day

Shloka of the day Sunday, 12 April 2026

One Sanskrit verse a day from the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Vedas, subhashitas and well-known stotras, with transliteration and meaning. 132 verses in rotation.

Bhagavad Gita 6.40

pārtha naiveha nāmutra vināśastasya vidyate |

na hi kalyāṇakṛtkaściddurgatiṃ tāta gacchati ||

Meaning

Neither in this world nor the next is such a seeker ever lost; one who does good never comes to a bad end.

The meaning is our own short paraphrase, not a word-for-word translation.
