Shloka of the day Sunday, 24 May 2026

One Sanskrit verse a day from the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Vedas, subhashitas and well-known stotras, with transliteration and meaning. 132 verses in rotation.

Bhagavad Gita 2.50

buddhiyukto jahātīha ubhe sukṛtaduṣkṛte |

tasmādyogāya yujyasva yogaḥ karmasu kauśalam ||

Meaning

One whose understanding is steady leaves behind both good and bad deeds here. So devote yourself to yoga: yoga is skill in action.

The meaning is our own short paraphrase, not a word-for-word translation.
