काशीक्षेत्रे निवासं च कालभैरवदर्शनम् ।kāśīkṣetre nivāsaṃ ca kālabhairavadarśanam |

गयाप्रयागमे दृष्ट्वा एकबिल्वं शिवार्पितम् ॥ ७ ॥gayāprayāgame dṛṣṭvā ekabilvaṃ śivārpitam || 7 ||

उमया सह देवेशं वाहनं नन्दिशङ्करम् ।umayā saha deveśaṃ vāhanaṃ nandiśaṅkaram |

मुच्यते सर्वपापेभ्यो एकबिल्वं शिवार्पितम् ॥ ८ ॥mucyate sarvapāpebhyo ekabilvaṃ śivārpitam || 8 ||

The edition abbreviates the refrain as "एक …" in verses 2–7; it is written out here as एकबिल्वं शिवार्पितम्, the full form the edition prints in verses 1 and 8; पूजार्थ → पूजार्थं, सालग्रामेषु → साळग्रामेषु (print). Recension: This edition gives a short eight-verse Bilvashtakam. It differs from the longer text common today (which has verses such as अखण्डबिल्वपत्रेण and मूलतो ब्रह्मरूपाय); both are traditional. The verse on the eight sacred leaves printed after the colophon is not included.

ରୋମାନ ଧାଡ଼ି ଦେବନାଗରୀରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ IAST ଲିପ୍ୟନ୍ତରଣ (ā = ଦୀର୍ଘ ଆ, ṃ = ଅନୁସ୍ୱାର, ḥ = ବିସର୍ଗ, ś/ṣ = ଶ/ଷ, c = ଚ)। ହିନ୍ଦୀ, ଅୱଧୀ ଓ ବ୍ରଜ ପାଠରେ ଶବ୍ଦ ଶେଷର ଅଉଚ୍ଚାରିତ “a” ଛାଡ଼ିଦିଆଯାଏ। ଲିପ୍ୟନ୍ତରଣରେ ବୈଦିକ ସ୍ୱର ଦେଖାଯାଏ ନାହିଁ।

Bilvashtakam କେଉଁ ଦେବତାଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଜଡ଼ିତ?

Bilvashtakam ଶିବଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଜଡ଼ିତ। Mahadeva, worshipped as the auspicious one, lord of yoga and of transformation; the central deity of Shaiva traditions.

Bilvashtakamର ଅର୍ଥ କ'ଣ?

The three-part bilva leaf is likened to the three gunas, Shiva's three eyes and three weapons, and is said to remove the sins of three births. Each verse compares the merit of one bilva leaf offered to Shiva with great acts — gifts to many, countless sacrifices, living in Kashi and seeing Kalabhairava, pilgrimage to Gaya and Prayag — and the last says the one who offers it to Shiva with Uma and Nandi is freed of all sins.
