Chanakya Niti 5.15

विद्या मित्रं प्रवासेषु भार्या मित्रं गृहेषु च ।vidyā mitraṃ pravāseṣu bhāryā mitraṃ gṛheṣu ca |

व्याधितस्यौषधं मित्रं धर्मो मित्रं मृतस्य च ॥vyādhitasyauṣadhaṃ mitraṃ dharmo mitraṃ mṛtasya ca ||

Meaning

Learning is a friend abroad, a spouse is a friend at home, medicine is a friend in sickness, and dharma is the friend after death.

परदेश में विद्या मित्र है, घर में पत्नी मित्र है, रोगी का मित्र औषधि है और मरने के बाद धर्म ही मित्र है।
