सुलभाः पुरुषा राजन्सततं प्रियवादिनः ।sulabhāḥ puruṣā rājansatataṃ priyavādinaḥ |

अप्रियस्य च पथ्यस्य वक्ता श्रोता च दुर्लभः ॥apriyasya ca pathyasya vaktā śrotā ca durlabhaḥ ||

Meaning

Those who always say pleasing things are easy to find, O king; but one who speaks an unpleasant yet wholesome truth, and one who listens to it, are rare. (Maricha to Ravana.)

हे राजन, सदा प्रिय बोलने वाले लोग सहज मिल जाते हैं, पर अप्रिय किन्तु हितकारी बात कहने वाला और उसे सुनने वाला दोनों दुर्लभ हैं। (मारीच का रावण से कथन।)
