Shloka of the day

Shloka of the day Wednesday, 2 September 2026

One Sanskrit verse a day from the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Vedas, subhashitas and well-known stotras, with transliteration and meaning. 132 verses in rotation.

Bhagavad Gita 10.8

ahaṃ sarvasya prabhavo mattaḥ sarvaṃ pravartate |

iti matvā bhajante māṃ budhā bhāvasamanvitāḥ ||

Meaning

I am the source of all; everything proceeds from Me. Knowing this, the wise worship Me with deep feeling.

The meaning is our own short paraphrase, not a word-for-word translation.
