Shloka of the day

Shloka of the day Saturday, 19 September 2026

One Sanskrit verse a day from the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Vedas, subhashitas and well-known stotras, with transliteration and meaning. 132 verses in rotation.

Bhagavad Gita 3.27

prakṛteḥ kriyamāṇāni guṇaiḥ karmāṇi sarvaśaḥ |

ahaṅkāravimūḍhātmā kartāhamiti manyate ||

Meaning

All actions are carried out by the qualities of nature; yet one deluded by ego thinks, “I am the doer.”

The meaning is our own short paraphrase, not a word-for-word translation.
