Shloka of the day Sunday, 20 September 2026

One Sanskrit verse a day from the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Vedas, subhashitas and well-known stotras, with transliteration and meaning. 132 verses in rotation.

Bhagavad Gita 15.7

mamaivāṃśo jīvaloke jīvabhūtaḥ sanātanaḥ |

manaḥṣaṣṭhānīndriyāṇi prakṛtisthāni karṣati ||

Meaning

An eternal part of Me becomes the living being in this world, and draws to itself the mind and the five senses that rest in nature.

The meaning is our own short paraphrase, not a word-for-word translation.
